Font and Font Size: Choose Times New Roman or Calibri. Preferably size 12 or even 11 will do.

Consistency: Be consistent in your CV throughout. Paragraph alignment, use of bullet points and headings. Commas and semi colons. In use of font and font size.

No Fillers: Your CV should not put a yawn on the mouth of the reader. Do not use filler to stretch it to more pages. If all details fill in one page, then one page is enough. No need for two. One pager is a sheer delight.

Reverse Chronological Order: Please start with what you currently are engaged into: a job, studies, internship, a course or simply preparing for competitions. Do not miss a date. If you have not studied or worked during a certain period, mention it.

Importance to the Current Engagement: Do not emphasise much upon what you were doing 2, 3 or 5 years ago. Use bullet points to highlight your current functioning.

Career Objective and Hobbies: Please give it amiss.

No Grammatical or Typographical Errors: Check, recheck, spell check. Give it to someone else to read it but avoid typo at any cost.

No Self Salutations: Please do not add Mr. / Mrs. / Ms, before your name. No s/o, w/o either. No references till specially asked for.
